Inside my
From the Start!
My journey into technology began in 2014, when a mathematics teacher introduced us to the basics of using a computer creating folders, renaming files, and opening a Word document. That simple lesson sparked something in me.
In 2015, during high school, a teacher further inspired my interest in ICT and made learning technology enjoyable. But the defining moment came in 2016, when another teacher introduced us to programming and explained that the systems we use are built by highly skilled individuals called programmers. From that moment, I knew I wanted to become one of them.
In 2017, my mother gave me a laptop – modest, with limited memory and a partially damaged screen, but it became the most important tool in my life. I began experimenting with HTML and CSS, learning through curiosity, even though I didn’t fully understand what I was doing at the time.
That period was not easy. I faced personal challenges, but I remained focused on learning and improving my skills. Technology became more than an interest, it became a path forward.
By 2018, I had developed strong foundational IT skills and began helping others, offering services to people in my community and teaching fellow students. Around this time, I was introduced more seriously to programming, which gave me direction and confidence.
In 2019, I continued developing my programming skills, particularly in Python, while in my advanced level High School.
In 2020, I built my first major software system, a school management platform. It was a turning point for me, seeing ideas come to life through code and solving real problems confirmed that I was on the right path.
In 2021, my work gained recognition at a national level, and I was selected as an Innovation Champion in Uganda under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Since then, I have worked with international organizations, NGOs, government projects, and institutions in health and education, applying technology to real-world challenges.
In 2023, I created an online community to share knowledge, teach others, and provide free resources for learning technology.
Today, I continue to grow as a Computer Science student. I am focused on building systems, deepening my understanding of computer science and machine learning, and documenting my journey.
